Welcome to Kishwaukee Canoe.
We are offering a scenic and relaxing 8 1/2 mile canoe trip on the Kishwaukee river. A trip that we truly believe is very enjoyable, as the 'Kish' has alot to offer.
For one thing the 'Kish' is rated as a Class A by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Meaning it has a significant number of species of fish that are silt intolerant. Nice to be on a river with clear water, where you can usually see to the bottom.
Also, the 'Kish' has many opportunities to see various wildlife along it's shores and in it's waters. White tailed deer, ducks, great blue herons, river otters, beavers, woodchucks, just to name a few.
The fishing is decent, commonly caught fish include: small and large mouth bass, blue gill, walleye, northern pike, and catfish.
There are many forest preserves along the river that you can stop at to picnic, or take advantage of their facilities including: Espencheid Memorial, Blackhawk Springs, Kishwaukee, Kishwaukee gorge.
Yet another nice thing about the 'Kish' is that it has mile marker signs every 1/4 mile, making it easy to tell where you are on the river.
